Akkodis is Seeking an Embedded System Engineer as a contractor for the location of Phoenix AZ. It is a contract Position for 12 months with possible extension or conversion to direct hire. Ideally Looking for a candidate with experience in Aerospace Manufacturing Industry.

Pay Range: $60 - $75/hour or $124k - $156k a year; based on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of advanced avionics display systems. This long-term W2 contract position involves designing both graphics and logic using SCADE modeling tools and C/C++ in a safety-critical, real-time environment. You'll contribute to the next generation of aerospace technologies with a focus on innovation, reliability, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement embedded software for avionics display systems using SCADE for graphics and C/C++ for application logic.
• Perform integration and testing of software on target hardware.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams in an Agile development environment.
• Ensure software is developed in accordance with DO-178C and A661 standards.
• Develop robust, high-performance solutions for real-time, safety-critical systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering , or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of experience in embedded software engineering with a focus on avionics displays and logic development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Hands-on experience with SCADE modeling tools (required).
• Experience with DO-178C and A661 standards.
• At least 6 years of experience in integration and testing on target embedded hardware.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency with additional languages/tools such as Python and OpenGL .
• Experience working with real-time operating systems (RTOS) .
• Prior background in aerospace, avionics, or embedded systems development.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and development methodologies.
• Knowledge of avionics domains including:
• Displays & Graphics
• Flight Management & Planning
• Primary Flight Displays (PFD)
• Flight Controls
• Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS)
• Crew Alert Messaging (CAS)
• Terrain Awareness Systems
• Radios and communications systems
