FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – FULLY REMOTE IN THE US

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations, ensure compliance with GAAP, and lead our annual audit processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS business models, deep knowledge of various accounting and finance tools, and the ability to scale accounting processes in a high-growth environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
Develop, implement and maintain financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and deliver timely and accurate financial statements.
Hands-on development and maintenance of more sophisticated accounting and analytical tools such as capitalized development cost accounting, revenue share computations and incentive comp calculations. Work to build financial reporting using PowerBI tools.
Manage annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and bankers; develop and/or review PBCs, bank compliance packages, state tax returns and estimated payments.
Optimize accounting and other systems and implement automation tools for scale.
Provide insights on key SaaS metrics (ARR, ACV, CAAR, retention and churn, etc.) and support investor reporting and board presentations.
Lead and mentor a small but growing finance team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or controller-level role.
Prior experience in a SaaS company is highly preferred; healthcare industry experience is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and accounting for internally developed software (ASC 350-40).
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar) and financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) and other database and workflow tools (salesforce, JIRA, confluence).
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive problem-solving and “doer” mindset.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products, particularly excel using various pivot tables and other data explore/summary functions
DESIRED COMPETENCIES:
Self-starter and capable of being both an individual contributor as well as a leader.
Must be able to work under the pressure of the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting cycles.
Ability to work on several projects at once, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
