POSITION TITLE: Grant Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Grant Manager oversees the full life cycle of grants. They are responsible for researching and validating grant opportunities, preparing grant proposals, managing awards, completing and submitting reporting requirements. The position plays a vital role in securing and managing the funding that supports ANEW's mission and programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Research, organize, write and manage a portfolio of grants, including complex state & federal funders, research additional opportunities aligned with ANEW's mission, programs and strategic goals.
- Maintain and grow a robust grant pipeline including foundation, corporate, and government sources
- Collaborate with the Director of Development to align prospects with programmatic priorities and timelines
- Draft, edit and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, applications, and supporting materials
- Coordinate with program staff, finance, and leadership to gather necessary data and documentation
- Ensure timeline submission of all proposals and maintain a calendar of deadlines
- Prepare high-quality grant reports in alignment with funder requirements and deadlines
- Track deliverables, budget usage, and program outcomes in coordination with program staff
- Support relationship management by preparing updates and acknowledgments for funders
- Manage ANEW's grant tracker and records in Salesforce
- Lead grant strategy meetings and provide regular updates to leadership
- Help refine systems to streamline application and reporting processes
- Maintain organization-wide program statistics on the outcomes of each department in order to report progress to funders.
- Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM / REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and nonprofit fundraising, preferably in workforce development, education, or equity-related fields (5+ years experience preferred.)
- Advanced proficiency of the written and spoken English
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex programmatic information into compelling narratives.
- Proven success securing grants from foundations, government agencies, and
- Demonstrated experience managing up to proactively collaborate with stakeholders and
- Strong communication and administrative skills with a proven track record of managing multiple projects.
- Experience working with fundraising CRMs and grant tracking tools (Salesforce NPSP preferred)
- Time management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and work efficiently, with little oversight.
- Commitment to ANEW's mission of equity, access, and inclusion
- Preferred Skills: Familiarity with Washington State funding landscape and local philanthropic community, understanding of workforce development, apprenticeship pathways, or labor-related programming.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Background screening through Washington State Patrol
- Ability to work flexible schedule to include evening and or weekend when necessary
- Proof of citizenship or other authorization for employment
- Continuation of employment is contingent upon successfully performing work described
- Continuation of this position is dependent on achievement of performance goals and availability of funding
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday Friday 8:30am4:30pm. This is a 100% in-office position.
WORK LOCATION: ANEW Main Office and Training Center at 18338 Andover Park W, Tukwila, WA and, on rare occasion, Satellite locations as assigned
SALARY This is an exempt position with a starting salary range of
$74,513 - $79,085.38 per year . Years experience must be directly related to this position.This position is grant funded and continuation of this position is subject to continuation of funding. The starting salary rate is based on education and experience.
BENEFITS This position is an exempt position. The person in this position is expected to serve a 90-day probation period. Benefits will not be included until and unless the position is made permanent, which is contingent upon performance evaluation, funding, board direction, and potential re-development of the organization and its training/service delivery models. If the position is more than 30/hours per week, employer paid medical benefits will include medical, dental, and vision benefits.
A portion of the medical premium is made by the employee through a pre-tax contribution at time of payroll posting. Employees at 30/hours a week or greater qualify for full benefits and pay a pre-tax contribution of $80 per month. Additional employer paid benefits include basic life insurance, vacation, sick leave, holiday pay and taxes as required by law. ANEW also contributes a 4% match to a 401k after one year of employment. ANEW Employees will not be permitted to use paid vacation or sick leave until successful completion of their 90-day probationary period.
