Role: Lead Software QA Tester- Job 4538

Location: Onsite- Glenn Allen, VA

Terms: Contract – long term

Wage : $60-70 an hour- based on experience

Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Lead Software Quality Tester . This is an incredible opportunity with a leading energy company. The selected candidate will be performing 100% QA duties , focusing on both manual and automated testing of web and client applications, backend API automation (using Java for automation, not for development ), and database validation.

• Expertise in manual and automated testing (Client Server and Web Applications)
• Proficiency in Azure DevOps (especially Test Plans )
• Strong experience with backend API automation using Java ( for test automation purposes, not application development )
• Proficiency in UiPath platform (RPA) (Studio, Orchestrator, Robots)
• Strong skills in Oracle SQL and MongoDB
• Proficiency with Linux (navigation/log retrieval) and familiarity with WebLogic

Responsibilities

• Develop, set up, and execute manual and automated test scripts
• Perform end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing
• Manage defects and report on testing progress
• Analyze test results, log issues, and retest corrections
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project managers
• Assist UAT Leads with test strategies and tools
• Support upcoming mobile application testing initiatives

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Testing/QA
• 5+ years leading testing of large-scale n-tier systems
• Strong knowledge of:
• UiPath
• Oracle SQL
• MongoDB
• Java Spring (architecture understanding, non-developer )
• Linux and WebLogic
• Azure DevOps services, especially Test Plans
• Excellent communication and flexibility in dynamic environments

Nice to have: Test driven development (TDD) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) CI/CD, mobile testing, energy sector experience, Confluent Cloud, Kafka, Cloud computing
