Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and deadline-driven Remote Proofreader to join our editorial support team. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for grammar, punctuation, and clarity, and is comfortable working independently in a remote environment. As a proofreader, you will review and refine internal documents, client communications, and reports to ensure they meet our high standards of accuracy and tone.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and proofread digital documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, and consistency
Ensure formatting and stylistic accuracy in line with company or client guidelines
Collaborate with writers, editors, and administrative staff to clarify content and correct errors
Track revisions and submit timely edits using tools such as Microsoft Word (Track Changes), Google Docs, or PDF markup tools
Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across all content, especially when working with sensitive or client-protected materials
Meet strict turnaround deadlines for high-priority assignments
Qualifications:
Proven experience in proofreading, editing, or copyediting
Excellent command of English grammar, style, and syntax
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PDF editing tools
Reliable internet connection and ability to work from home in a distraction-free environment
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with industry style guides (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual, etc.)
Experience proofreading in a technical, healthcare, or legal setting
Strong time-management skills and ability to manage multiple projects
