Protestant Contemporary Music Director-$50.00 Per Hour- Whiteman Air Force Base , MO 65305

The Role

Are you experienced in leading contemporary worship music? Can you build and direct a music team that inspires through faith and song? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Music Director to lead the Protestant Contemporary Worship service. This position involves selecting and performing music that supports and enhances the spiritual experience of congregational worship. You'll work closely with the Senior Protestant Chaplain or their designee to plan services and events in alignment with the chapel's mission.

This is a contracted part-time position working up to 2 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate weekly worship and special events with the Senior Protestant Chaplain.
• Direct and rehearse with the Worship Team at least once a week.
• Select and distribute worship music 24 hours before rehearsal.
• Lead the Worship Team during Sunday services and special occasions.
• Ensure musical equipment is set up and taken down before and after services.
• Maintain punctuality: arrive 10 minutes before rehearsals, 30 minutes before services.
• Keep a written log of duties performed.

The Person

• Has a strong understanding of the Protestant Christian faith.
• Has experience in worship planning and team leadership.
• Plays at least one musical instrument proficiently (keyboard or guitar preferred).
• Can perform vocally and read music (preferred).
• Is comfortable arranging music and leading a variety of contemporary worship songs.
• Can build and guide a team of volunteer musicians and vocalists of all ages.
