The Vegetable Production Systems Laboratory in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science located on The OSU-Wooster Campus invites applications for Student Research Assistant positions. The team addresses real-world challenges faced by vegetable growers managing farms across Ohio, the region, and globally. Research focuses on vegetable farming practices to improve farm success, resilience, and food quality. Work is year-round in various settings including outdoors, high tunnels, greenhouses, laboratories, and offices, with tasks varying to accommodate different interests and abilities. No prior experience is required; willingness to learn and effort are essential. The team does not study pesticides or similar materials but occasionally studies fertilizers. The work combines critical thinking with thoughtful action, aiming for continuous improvement. Schedule flexibility is offered. Positions are located at The Ohio State University Wooster Campus, Williams Hall (0414). Final candidates must pass a background check; drug screen or physical may be required post-offer.
