Position: Global Category Manager – Watches & Jewelry

Overview: The Global Category Manager for Watches & Jewelry will contribute to the category's strategy, managing buying, merchandising, supplier partnerships, and marketing to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Buying & Assortment Management:
• Lead the selection of new products to ensure a well-balanced assortment guided by consumer trends and commercial goals.
• Oversee item creation and collaborate with supply chain teams for seamless coordination.
• Store Layout & Visual Merchandising:
• Define and implement category guidelines for store layouts to optimize space utilization and enhance product visibility.
• Direct local teams on maintaining visual merchandising standards to drive sales.
• Supplier & Brand Partnerships:
• Cultivate and manage relationships with key suppliers and brands.
• Negotiate commercial terms, exclusivity agreements, and promotional initiatives for enhanced category profitability.
• Marketing & Commercial Growth:
• Partner with the marketing team to create category-specific campaigns and in-store activations.
• Develop digital touchpoints to boost customer engagement and revenue.
• Stock Management & Exit Strategy:
• Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels, ensuring effective exit strategies for slow-moving or excess stock.
• Retail Execution & Compliance:
• Develop and enforce store operational guidelines, aligning with corporate standards and travel retail best practices.
• Annual Commercial Planning:
• Contribute to the annual commercial plan with insights on category trends and sales forecasts.
• Lead strategic initiatives to enhance category growth.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
• Analyze category performance using KPIs, sales data, and market trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Collaborate with internal teams, including supply chain, finance, marketing, and retail operations, for seamless execution.
• Tender Process Management:
• Assess tender requirements, align with commercial goals, and coordinate documentation for tender submissions.
• Strategic Contribution:
• Shape and contribute to the overall strategy for the Watches & Jewelry category, aligning with long-term company objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement the Commercial Plan for the Watches & Jewelry Category.
• Manage global and local Watches & Jewelry assortments.
• Foster strong relationships with local operations and suppliers to enhance performance.
• Allocate brand space in new and existing shop layouts to reflect global strategy.
• Identify and execute growth opportunities with key stakeholders.
• Regularly review trade performance at both topline and SKU levels.
• Support implementation of promotions with local teams.
• Conduct research on product and market trends to remain competitive.
