Base pay range $84,901.00/yr - $120,640.00/yr Job Summary The Grants Manager plays a key role in supporting the Tamien Nation's mission by identifying and securing funding opportunities to advance tribal programs and community development projects. This individual is responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting grant applications; ensuring compliance with funding requirements; facilitating program development; and maintaining effective communication with funding entities. This role requires cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and collaboration with Tribal Leaders, departments, and the broader Tamien Nation community. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Grant Management and Program Support: Coordinate, administer, and supervise funded Tribal programs/projects not assigned to a Program Director. Manage grant reporting and invoicing to ensure timely compliance. Compile and maintain Tribal demographic data, statistics, and resource information for grant applications and awards. Prepare and submit accurate grant applications to State, County, Local, and Private funding agencies. Collaborate with Program Directors and Tribal Administration to align grant objectives with Tribal priorities. Training and Development: Provide training on funding opportunities, program development processes, and compliance procedures. Assist Program Directors in enhancing and expanding programs. Research and Reporting: Identify and pursue available funding sources, including state programs and private grants. Prepare concise monthly reports for the Tamien Nation Executive Committee and Administration. Compliance and Monitoring: Develop and maintain a grant program monitoring mechanism to ensure adherence to funding requirements, timely reporting, and performance tracking. Ensure compliance with state and private grant requirements as well as organizational policies. Monitor awarded grants throughout their lifecycle to maintain compliance. Collaboration and Relationship Building: Foster relationships with representatives from state agencies, private foundations, and other funding sources. Work closely with the fiscal department to ensure accurate financial and budgetary submissions. Strategic Planning: Develop strategies for continuous improvement of grants management and increased funding. Conduct complex research projects and action plans to achieve program goals. Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge of state, county, and private funding laws and regulations. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to establish professional relationships with diverse individuals and teams. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Proficiency in time management to meet strict deadlines. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Management, Planning, or a related field. A minimum of four (4) years of experience managing large grants, including writing, reporting, invoicing, and implementing programs. Experience working with Native American communities and non-profits is required. Additional Requirements Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background investigation.
